Research and development in art and design

Research and development in art and des ign is a ce n t ra l , conspicuous and integrated aspect of KHiBÕs efforts. KHiB shall actively utilise its potential to provide an arena for development of projects in art and design that can only be executed in an institution for education and research.

KHiB shall stimulate research and development in art and design that incorporates its academic resources in such a way that individual projects achieve a larger context.

Communication, dialogue and criticism are highlighted as necessary elements of the development of projects. It is an objective of KHiB that this work should be integrated in a broader network including external milieus, and that the institution develop co n c re te projects in co l l a bo ra t i o n with both national and international partners. KHiB shall actively participate in the strengthening of research and d evelopment in art and des ign, nationally and inte r n a t i o n a l ly. KHiB focuses on exploring the tensions between artistic development and scientific research.
