Muuto Talent Award to Marte Straalberg
Marte Straalberg, a third year bachelor student in design at Bergen National Academy of the Arts, has been awarded the third place in the international design competition th Muuto Talent Award for the prototype of the lamp "Sprinkle".
This is the jury's statement:
"Sprinkle is an interesting and functional take on a wall lamp.
The choice of material and the humoristic inspiration for the
design give the lamp a relevant and lively personality."
For the third year in a row, Muuto has
hosted the annual design competition for Nordic design students.
This year's Muuto Talent Award has seen more entries than ever
before, with more than 400 contributions by gifted design
students.
In the autumn of 2011, students of more than 20 design schools in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland were invited to participate in Muuto's annual design contest Muuto Talent Award. Hundreds of students decided to submit their best designs within furniture, lighting and accessories.
After a thorough selection process, the Muuto board has now chosen the winners. Marte Straalberg at Bergen National Academy of the Arts came on third place. This year's winner is David Geckeler with his "Nerd Chair".
