Two MA students take sound art to Roskilde

Cecilia Jonsson and Signe Lidén, MA students in art, will present their work in a group exhibition that will open on 27 April at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Roskilde. The exhibition is called 'Soundings 2' and is part of the Nordic Sound Art Graduate Show organised by KUNO.

Since its inception, sound art has developed in parallel with installation art and performance art. It is characterised by a combination of elements from these art forms. This diversity is reflected in the exhibition, where the participating artists offer samples of the wealth of ideas that characterises sound art.

The exhibition will run until 3 June 2012.

Facts about Nordic Sound Art
Nordic Sound Art is a collaboration on sound art that originated in the KUNO network. MA students from collaborating institutions in several Nordic countries meet for joint workshops over the course of two years and participate in a joint degree exhibition. The programme is a Nordic-Baltic collaboration project that was established in 2007. It is a two-year master's level programme under the auspices of KUNO - 'Kunsthøgskoleutdannelser i Norden' (Art academy education in the Nordic countries). This time, the participants are the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Malmö Art Academy, Bergen Academy of Art and Design, Trondheim Academy of Fine Art and the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts.
