Sol Sneltvedt joined Bergen Academy of Art and Design as Adviser for Art and Design Research and Development autumn 2011.
She relocated from the University of Brighton, England where she was Senior Lecturer across the two fine art departments Sculpture and Critical Fine Art Practice 2001-11. Sol was Project Manager for the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning through Design (CETLD) 2009-2010. Previously Sol had led the CETLD research project "Bridging the Gap in Moving Image: Connecting New and Traditional Technologies for Enhanced Communication between Students, Academic and Support staff Across Art and Design" in tandem with completion of the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. Educated in Denmark, Belgium, England and Norway, Sol mastered fine arts at Chelsea College of Art and Design, London 1993. Her work was exhibited extensively in both artists run spaces and established museums and galleries throughout Europe 1991-2008. She was a Research Fellow for 'Mindscape, attempting to visualise the workings of the brain' with Professor in Neuroscience Michael O'Shea, University of Sussex as part of the Arts Council of England & the Arts and Humanities Research Council fellowship program "Artists and scientists working together" 2003-04. Sol was entered into the Research Academic Exercise 2008.
